9/15/09 ~ Peripheral Vascular Disease with Dr. Elias A. Iliadis

Through interviews, including “World Class” Research Scientist, physicians and people living with diabetes, living well tips and questions from the listening audience, host Kitty Castellini and Endocrinologist Dr. Joseph J. Fallon, Jr. are there every step of the way to offer guidance, advice, and most of all, support.

This week Dr. Fallon and “guest co-host” Dr. Steven Kaufman (filling in for Kitty) will interview Cardologist Dr. Elias A. Iliadis from Cooper University Hospital.  

Guest Co-host Dr. Steven Kaufman, Endocrinologist

Dr. Kaufman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University, and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Pittsburgh.  He is an assistant professor of Medicine at Cooper University Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine and Dentistry. He practices clinical endocrinology, regularly teaches medical students, interns and residents, and is a regular contributor to medical journals.  Dr. Kaufman is the co-principle investigator of the Camden Citywide Diabetes Collaborative. This multipronged, citywide effort aims to improve diabetes care at the patient, practice, and community level within Camden.

His hobbies include playing with his family, running marathons and reading non-fiction books.

Dr. Elias A. Iliadis

Clinical Cardiologist Elias A. Iliadis, M.D., will answer your questions about diagnosis and treatment for PVD, and heart disease. Dr. Iliadis is Medical Director of Noninvasive Vascular Intervention, Cooper Heart Institute; Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Memorial Hospital of Salem County; and Assistant Professor of Medicine, UMDNJ-RWJMS at Camden. He is board certified in Internal Medicine in three and two cardiology specialties Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Iliadis graduated from UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed an internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his fellowship training in cardiology was a Fellow at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

Dr. Iliadis’ special interests include: coronary artery disease and intervention, heart attack care, peripheral vascular disease and intervention, nuclear cardiology and noninvasive vascular disease assessment. He sees patients in his office in Voorhees.
