Dr. Andrew R. Quint

Dr. Andrew R. Quint grew up in White Plains, NY, outside of New York City. He attended Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, originally planning on a career as an orchestral trombonist. His interest in the sciences led him to pursue medicine instead, and he graduated in 1979 from the George Washington School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and spent a year as Chief Medical Resident at St. Paul-Ramsay Medical Center in St. Paul. His focus in endocrinology and metabolism brought him to the Philadelphia area for the final years of his medical training: he was an Endocrine fellow at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and then the first Rodebaugh Diabetes Fellow at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1984-1985. Dr. Quint is board-certified in Internal Medicine and in the subspecialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Since completing his training, Dr. Quint has been in private practice. He’s a senior partner in Endocrine Associates, a five-doctor group based in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Dr. Quint sees patients with all disorders of endocrinology and metabolism, but has a special interest in the care of people with diabetes, especially Type 2 diabetes. He’s a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Quint devotes time to teaching medical students and residents, and speaks widely on diabetes subjects to practicing physicians throughout the Delaware Valley.

Dr. Quint lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Marjorie, a painter; they have two grown daughters. Dr. Quint has maintained his life-long interest in music, writing about classical music for two national magazines.
